Safety Mentor Ltd was founded in 2006 to provide high quality, pragmatic and cost effective advice on a wide range of business risks. A philosophy of establishing long term relationships with our clients is the key to our success, and we firmly believe that ownership of all health, safety and environmental matters is best placed with the client; our role is to support them with this endeavour.

Nick Broom, the Managing Director and Senior Consultant started his career with the Royal Air Force Fire & Rescue Service back in 1974 and he has been actively involved in safety, training and developing effective teams since then.
Nick is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and a Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. He graduated from Loughborough University with a Master of Science degree in occupational health and safety management, having first gained the traditional academic NEBOSH diploma and a NVQ level 4 in Management. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Member of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers.

During his 30+ years in the safety profession he has gained experience in a wide variety of high risk industries, including the MoD, engineering, manufacturing, agriculture, construction and aviation. He has worked in the Mediterranean regions, Central America, the South Atlantic and in the Middle East.
Nick Broom
He has a proven track record of developing and implementing health and safety management systems and delivering thought provoking safety training. Nick has been a lecturer at Aberdeen College, where he taught on IOSH and NEBOSH courses and is a past Chairman of the North of Scotland Branch of IOSH. He has served on the IOSH Communications and International Committee, has been a member of the UK Timber Frame Association Health & Safety, Education and Training Committee, and a Steering Group member of the Scottish House Builders Health and Safety Forum.
